"Our Play Scheme is based on fun for all within a safe and stimulating environment."

FunWho we are

CCPS is a registered charity that was set up in 1977 with the aim of providing respite care for children with special needs and their families. We run for 4 weeks in the summer holidays every year and are staffed entirely by volunteers.

We rely on financial support from the local community to help us operate. We have many young volunteers who give up their holiday time to help care, entertain and make friends with our very special children.

FriendshipWhat we do

We believe in fun for all. Through structured play and activities we provide a high quality, stimulating and creative environment in which the children are encouraged to choose and participate in what they want to do.

Activities are matched to the children’s ability and needs and range from wheelchair ice skating to music workshops and from fashion shows to visits to the funfair.

FreedomWho can attend?

We accept any young person between the ages of 5-19 who has a statement of special educational needs. Our only requirement is that we feel we can meet the specific needs of the young person.

We have children with many different needs from physical developmental needs to Autism and from Down’s syndrome to blindness.
