Sponsorship and Friends of CCPS
Chanctonbury Community Play Scheme is a registered charity and as such we have to raise our own funds to operate each year. Currently our operating costs are around £50,000.
These costs cover everything from the hire of venues, cost of the fuel and hire of the minibuses we to paying for the ice cream van to visit and give the children a free ice cream.
Parents are asked for a donation towards our costs but we still need to raise a great deal of money to run. In order to raise this money we have run and participated in many different events including:
- Bridge jumps
- Race nights
- Christmas fairs
- Sponsored cycle rides
- Raffles
- And many more!!
We rely heavily on the support of the local communities in which we operate and the generosity of organisations within them. We are always looking for new sources of funding whatever the scale. We continue to work hard to keep our administration costs low and can assure you that the money you give will directly benefit the quality of provision for the children.
We are keen to hear from people who can donate money from organisations as well as people who may be able to have one of our collecting tins in the place they work. Please contact us if you feel able to help in any way; your time in reading this is appreciated.
Our sponsorship secretary Mervyn Parker will be happy to help you with any information.
He can be contacted by e-mail at mervyn.parker@hotmail.com or by phone on 01903 778750.

Friends of CCPS
We also have a "friends of CCPS" scheme where people can sign up to be our friend for just £10 a year. For this you will receive our three-monthly newsletter with updates about all our events and report on how the play scheme went in the summer. If you feel able to contribute in this way, please contact Pam Cork (Friends’ secretary) on Pam@watkinscom.co.uk.
